Inter - University IT Competiton at HiAST Hyderabad


HiAST Institute Hyderabad, proudly affiliated with both the University of Sindh and Mehran University of Engineering and Technology. HiAST, known for offering quality education from preschool to undergraduate level, organized the Inter-University IT Competition 2025 on May 3. The event gathered students from across Hyderabad and beyond, including HITMS, MIT, Isra, MUET, SZABIST, Sindh University, SMIT, and Gexton, to compete in various categories ranging from design to development.
The Inter-University IT Competition 2025 at HiAST Undergrad Institute, Hyderabad, was a success in showcasing tech innovation and student talent. The event at the HiAST campus brought together students from institutes across Hyderabad, including HITMS, MIT, Isra, MUET, SZABIST, Sindh University, SMIT, and Gexton. The inter-university IT Competition 2025 wasn’t only about designing or coding; it reflected creativity, problem-solving, and innovation. Students from different institutes showcased exceptional talent in various categories at the Inter-university IT Competition at HiAST, one of the emerging management colleges in Hyderabad. In the Mobile App Development category, students turned their ideas into real, working applications, Mumtaz Ali from the MIT Institute won the Mobile App Development category, securing 1st position. Wasif from SMIT Institute got 2nd place, and Haider Ali from MIT Institute achieved 3rd place.
This category highlighted how students from Hyderabad colleges are using technology to solve real-world problems in smart and engaging ways. Within the UI/UX category, students showed user-centered design by creating engaging and functional interfaces. They designed solutions that balanced visuals with usability, ensuring smooth user navigation, clean layouts, and effective storytelling. In the UI/UX design category, all top positions were claimed by students from SMIT Institute. Nabbia secured 1st place, Amna came in 2nd, and Sharmeen earned 3rd place. The next was Front-End Development, which was all about turning ideas into interactive, user-friendly web experiences. The students showed creativity and coding skills together to build clean, responsive, and engaging interfaces. Within the Front-End Development, Zain from MIT Autobahn Institute secured the 1st position. Aniqa and Maimoona from SMIT Institute took 2nd place, while two teams shared the 3rd position: Huzaifa and Arhama from HITMS Institute Kohsar, and Dua and Amarta from ISRA University.
In the Graphics Design category, participants submitted original logo and poster designs that combined creativity, clarity, and purpose. Their work was judged based on visual appeal, concept execution, and relevance to the theme. Muhammad from HiAST impressed the panel with his impressive logo design, securing 1st place, while Joheyna Lodhi from HITMS earned 1st position for her poster design. The 2nd positions were awarded to Abdul Qadeer from HiAST for logo design and Memoona from Gexton for poster design. The 3rd place winners included Muhammad Saad from HiAST for his creative logo and Mantasha Jibran from SMIT for her expressive poster. Each entry reflected the students’ ability to communicate ideas visually and professionally, making the Graphics category one of the highlights of the competition. In the Back-End Development category of the Inter-University IT Competition hosted by HiAST College, Hyderabad, students impressed judges with their ability to build strong, scalable, and efficient server-side applications.
Zia from SMIT Institute secured 1st position for creating a well-optimized back-end system with advanced functionality. Zainab from Gexton secured 2nd position, while Ali Raza from MIT Institute secured 3rd position for his logical and well-structured code. The Inter-University IT Competition 2025 at HiAST was more than just a series of contests; it reflected the hard work and passion students brought to the table. The incredible effort of the HiAST faculty and organizing team made this event a success.
